Darn that exchange rate; Or, How I knew I was a real Fangirl
So in the last 24 hours I have sent a pile of money from the US to the UK via Ebay & Paypal so I could get my hands on some Doctor Who toys. Mostly, a TARDIS. I want a TARDIS.
.well it most recently started when we were setting up the Playmobil Nativity and the older child expressed his disappointment that we had no phonebox for the Angels! Oh, if only there were a Playmobil Dr. Who line. We could have an entire Valiant playset complete with Old!Doctor and wheelchair and wee Toclofane! There'd be a Game Station Playset with Daleks, Nine, Jack, and the extrapolator! And oh! Cardiff, too!! Man! Perhaps I am overestimating the worldwide appeal of the Doctor (as if!) but I just think it would be nice for there to be toys that are toys just to be played with.
And I do not believe in NOT playing with toys. You collectors out there can just turn away now.
I plan to allow my offspring (yet only my own) to Play with the Doctor Who Action Figures.*
So it is with great discomfiture that I admit to this bit of information: Today 1 USD=.47GBP. That bites a very big one.
::whines:: But I found a few things I can't get here!

christn7's hysteria over finding some action figures locally.
I realised yesterday that it would be a fairly cold day in hell before I'd see some here...and I'm in the proper hemisphere!
Not that I've looked. Perhaps I'll look. I just don't see why my local Toys R Us don't have the giant Doctor/Master displays! No fair!
And I really am buying all but the TARDIS for the child. No matter what everyone says.
So maybe I'm not so much a Fangirl as a FanMom? Oh, not even. I'm totally keeping the boxes.
