And for Spam: True Blood

Finally, I must say that I finished the season tonight. My older son watched this season and is catching up on previous seasons online. He took the final episodes a little more seriously than I did. But...
...I did vow to always watch the show tonight, and not out of swoon for the amazingness of the writing, but for the sheer cracky entertainment of it! I do honestly love many characters but this entire season did more to make me laugh than cry or pant or shiver.
Best lines from the finale:
"Gay Stormtroopers!" Which made me wanna put together that costume for Dragon*con.
And "We are not Fucking Puppy Dogs!" complete with fang-induced lisp!
Imma miss Jesus just because when I press "info" on my remote I got hilarious descriptions of TB that included things like, "Jesus helps LaFayette" and the like. I'm so mature.
Finally, the very best part?
I yelled out loud and clapped when my wildest dream/demand for this season came true there in the last scene: TARA WAS SHOT IN THE HEAD!!! WAHOO!! I broke up with Tara slowly, starting with the end of the first season. But this whole season has made me hate her and wish loudly each week that this would be her last week. And I finally got that. Though, I know she'll probably be back to WHINE and SIMPER even more about what a gigantic victim she is. Get some help, Tara, seriously! GTFO and get some damn therapy!
All in all, I'll watch again, but not with the rapture I watched once upon a time. As a matter of fact, I can't really believe I *ever* felt that way.
In fact, the werewolves on TB really made me wish that the rumored Anita Blake TV show would come to be. These sketchy weres really made me appreciate the detials that LKH put into the Werewolf politics, all the pack structure with all the different critters. All that mythology and hierarchy. That would make some good telly at least until the loony sexathons started. It would be cancelled by then anyway! Just gimme a few seasons, at least til the Triumverate is formed and a little beyond? Move up the sexing a little in the timeline to make good TV? I'll start wishing harder. Oh, nevermind, it isn't happening and hasn't been for a long time...
