I think AWE was just enough to push me over my piratical obsession. I mean, I am thrilled and all but nowhere near as proud and delighted as I once was to proclaim my pirate love!

They misused Chow Yun Fat. He is way too funny and tough to be reduced to horny pirate lord. But I loved him for bestowing his ship and all to our Lady.

They misused Keith Richards--shouldn't have had a speaking part at all although the line about Mum was nice.

Too much Johnny. Ugh. Ever heard of "less is more," People? That a little bit of clothing is better than nudity? That moderation is a good thing? Yuck. I agree with whatsername that said the initial hallucinatory bit was darker on second glance than it was funny on first sight. But still. There's silly and then there's ridiculous. Bleah.

Stupid wedding. Dumb. And Why did we need to see the dead Kraken? Were T&T afraid we'd get lonesome for it? Or that we wouldn't believe it was well and truly dead unless we saw the corpse?

I agree that kid at the end didn't look 9 years and 3 months old, IMHO, but it wasn't worth sitting thru another hour of credits to see it.

I did love that the score includes themes on pirate songs.

I did love invincible!Lizzie. I loved that she was not the Queen, but the King.
And why can't pirate King Lizzie shag undead Will ad nauseum on the sea? Married or not, our Liz wouldn't be landlubbing it would she? And since Davy Jones could apparently stand in a bucket of seawater as needed, why couldn't they meet once a week with him in a bucket should the demands of ferrying the dead keep him to busy to shag at sea? HOLES. Silliness. Not impressed.

And the fountain of youth? Fourth movie? Please God no! As unhappy I was that POTC3 did not beat Spider-man3 in box office sales records, I know it didn't deserve to beat the record that Spider-man3 broke. Not that SM3 deserved to break it, either. All this in the same sacred weekend as the films to end all summer blockbusters celebrates their anniversary. At least I went ahead and bought the SW trilogy on DVD and we spent the weekend watching them. It made me block out the dirtiness I felt after dedicating my mental energy to counting down to such a disappointment. I knew it couldn't beat #2, but it could have made sense. It could have made me love the franchise more, not less!
